Namings, Commitment & Renewal Ceremonies

Some ceremonies cannot be made legal. Under Australian Law, you cannot marry the same person twice, nor can you marry a person of the same sex. For this reason, we have Commitment Ceremonies.

If you have a significant anniversary coming up, be it only 5, 10 or even 20 or more years, you may choose to reaffirm your wedding vows to each other. This is an opportunity to involve your children, or your grand children in your ceremony, while celebrating your love for each other. It can be as glamorous as your first wedding, or a low key family event. The choice is yours. You will receive a commemorative certificate to complete the ceremony.

For same sex couples, a commitment ceremony is the only way to celebrate your love and devotion to your life partner. Your ceremony can be as much like a wedding as you may like it.  All the tradition, but with a commemorative certificate in place of an official wedding certificate.  Any of the wedding ceremonies listed on the previous page can be utilized, just omitting a few official words in the ceremony.

A naming ceremony is a beautiful way to honour your child in a non-religious way. You are restricted only by your imagination. Be it in a park, on a mountain or your own back yard. You can involve family members and special people with readings, perform a butterfly or balloon release. You will be presented with a special Naming Certificate to have as a keepsake.
